What?
This is as much a dance project as it is an exercise in post-modern literature. The writing drives the movement drives the writing. What began as a series of daily freewrites on my subway ride home, letting random thoughts spill out of my brain into a series of digital digressions, has expanded into a herculean task of free association choreography. Very much a default “oral history” of 2015, I seek to test my own limits of endurance, emptying my body like I would empty my mind of eavesdropped midnight conversations, #blacklivesmatter, NFL Combine sprint records and Chimamanda by documenting the creation of short, wholly unrelated phrases of movement for one year.

On January 1, 2016, I will begin to review the hours of footage and craft a fever dream of a dance piece- an experimental novel of the body, composed of disparate parts, far removed from their original meaning. A series of signifiers pointing to...something.

In the interim, I've created a digital catalogue of my process. Composed of mashed-up videos, original music, excerpts from free-writes and photos, this electronic landscape will serve as a stand-in for the epic that doesn't exist...yet.
